Simultaneous interpreting
The interpreter translates in real time while the speaker talks; the audience listens through headsets and the duration of the event is unchanged.
Contexts of use
- Conferences, conventions and congresses
- Shareholder and board meetings
- Training with an international audience
- Events with several languages in the room
How it works
The service takes place in a soundproof booth or, for groups on the move and rooms without equipment, with a tour-guide system. For sessions longer than two hours, two interpreters work together, alternating every 20-30 minutes.
Worth knowing: The event material (programme, slides, speaker names) must be sent in advance: it forms the basis of the preparation glossary.
